Planting Seeds of Love: Building Peace and Reconciliation in Sri Lanka

Since the end of the devastating civil war in Sri Lanka, the nation has been on a journey towards healing, reconciliation, and unity. The scars left by more than 35 years of conflict ran deep, breeding bitterness, hatred, and division among communities. The aftermath of the war saw the Tamils, Sinhalese, and Muslims living as enemies, fractured and unable to find common ground.

Recognizing the urgent need to mend these deep-seated wounds and build bridges of understanding, a series of peace programs and initiatives have been launched across the country. These efforts are aimed at fostering harmony, peace, love, and mutual respect among the diverse communities that call Sri Lanka home.

One such initiative is the “Seed of Love” project, which seeks to sow the seeds of compassion and empathy among the people of Sri Lanka.
