Exchange Programs
The People Helping People Foundation in Sri Lanka has been working tirelessly since 2010 to bridge the divide between the Muslim, Tamil, and Sinhalese communities who have been affected by over 35 years of civil war. This conflict has left behind a legacy of bitterness, disharmony, and unforgiveness among these communities, leading them to live separately and often in distrust of one another.
One of the foundation’s key initiatives is the exchange program, which brings children from one village to another with the aim of fostering understanding, forgiveness, and reconciliation. These exchanges involve immersive experiences where children stay in host villages for a weekend, participating in various activities that promote interaction and cultural exchange.
During these programs, the children engage in fun and educational activities such as cooking classes, sports events, and cultural performances. The evenings are filled with cultural programs where villagers come together to celebrate their diversity and shared humanity. Through these shared experiences, the children and villagers learn to communicate effectively, understand each other better, and ultimately, forge lasting friendships.
The People Helping People Foundation provides financial and spiritual support to ensure the success of these programs. By facilitating connections and promoting dialogue between communities, the foundation aims to contribute to the prosperity and well-being of the nation. They believe that by working together and fostering unity, Sri Lanka can become a nation that thrives in health, wealth, education, and spirituality.
To continue their mission and expand their impact, the foundation seeks the support of like-minded individuals and organizations. If you are willing to support their efforts in bringing communities together and building a more cohesive society, you are encouraged to reach out to the People Helping People Foundation and join them in their noble cause. Together, let us work towards a brighter future for all in Sri Lanka.
